Perspectives on Drug Scheduling from Two Lawyers Who Took on the DEA

Gina Giorgio, Brett Phelps, Robert Rush

Despite decades of evidence demonstrating the failure of the war on drugs, the DEA recently attempted to criminalize yet another psychedelic research chemical. While relatively unknown in the broader psychedelic community, DOI is cited in more than 900 published studies yet despite no evidence of use outside of legitimate scientific research, the DEA insisted on placing DOI in such a restricted class that it would disrupt scientific research. Attendees will leave with a much deeper understanding of the process of drug criminalization in the United States and an overview of important and timely updates to constitutional and administrative law.
