How Psychedelics Can Open Your Heart and Expand Your Mind

Bessel van der Kolk

In this Keynote we will take a close look at some of the remarkable results of the large Lykos MDMA Study for PTSD which showed that MDMA opens traumatized people up to experience themselves with a deep sense of compassion and kindness. Compared with intensive psychotherapy with highly qualified therapists only, the addition of MDMA had a remarkable effect on helping people to see clearly what had happened to them, to appreciate how they had tried to cope as well as they could with horrendous experiences in the past, to calm their bodies down, and even to feel compassion for their perpetrators. Our research opened up some important windows into understanding how psychedelics, combined with psychotherapy can truly contribute help you to change your mind.
