Queering Psychedelics

Alex Belser, Clancy Cavnar

This panel will explore some LGBT+ or “queer” perspectives on the therapeutic, spiritual, and social use of psychedelics. The panelists will incorporate their clinical and personal experiences to emphasize the role of community as a vital agent of healing among queer people and make recommendations for queer-inclusive psychedelic therapy and research. They will also draw from queer history, including the use of psychedelics during the AIDS crisis and for “conversion therapy.”
