Psychedelic therapy for military veterans: A new paradigm of healing the wounds of war

As MDMA-assisted therapy (MDMA-AT) continues to emerge as an innovative intervention for PTSD, VA researchers are at the forefront of exploring its potential to address the unique challenges faced by military Veterans. This panel brings together leading researchers who have conducted early MDMA-AT studies within the VA system, including as an individual treatment and paired with couples therapy and group therapy. Each panelist will discuss preliminary findings and challenges from their work, highlighting the unique contribution of research with Veterans.The discussion will cover ethical considerations of this work within the VA, variations in protocols, and harmonization of outcome measures. Panelists will also share early insights into Veterans’ responses to MDMA-AT and plans for future studies.
