Healing Across Generations: From Transgenerational Trauma to Collective Resilience

Magdalena Kaspryszyn

How does unspoken trauma echo across generations? And what happens when we finally have the tools to listen, name, and transform what was once buried in silence? In this talk, Magdalena Kaspryszyn weaves personal narrative with historical insight, exploring how the psychological aftermath of war, forced displacement, and collective suffering continues to shape descendants long after the events themselves. Drawing from her own family history in post-WWII Poland and recent parallels with the war in Ukraine, she illustrates the invisible legacy passed down through generations — and how transgenerational trauma can become a catalyst for healing rather than continued harm.Magdalena shares the founding story and mission of HoloMind Institute, a pioneering organization advancing trauma-informed care, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and cross-cultural education in Central and Eastern Europe. She highlights recent achievements, including the launch of a research consortium on psilocybin therapy, the establishment of a therapeutic clinic, and upcoming MDMA-assisted therapy trainings in partnership with MAPS.This session invites participants to reflect on how we carry the memories of our ancestors — and how, through science, ceremony, and solidarity, we can also carry the medicine.
