Colorado’s Legal and Cultural Psychedelic Landscape

In 2022, Colorado voters passed the groundbreaking Natural Medicine Health Act (NMHA), launching the state into the forefront of psychedelic reform. Now, with implementation actively unfolding under the guidance of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), Department of Revenue (DOR), and the Natural Medicine Advisory Board, Colorado is creating the nation’s first regulated framework for natural psychedelic facilitators and healing centers while continuing to permit access to psychedelic care under a community healing model. This 15-minute session will offer a concise but comprehensive overview of the NMHA’s core provisions, the current status of rulemaking and licensing, the latest cleanup bills, and key legal considerations for practitioners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
