Psychedelics, Exceptionalism, and Other Drugs

I am very much a psychedelic (and cannabis) exceptionalist when it comes to my own drug use – and also when assessing the relative benefits and risks of varied psychoactive drugs. But that must not extend to a sense of exceptionalism when it comes to either the core principles or the broader agenda of drug policy reform consciousness and activism. Psychedelics offer great promise in alleviating pain, addiction and other maladies. Psychedelic policy reform provides inspiration and models for enlisting military veterans and building bipartisan coalitions. These advances will mean all the more to the extent they extend to and embrace the broader world of drugs and drug policy reform.
