Psychedelic Perspectives of Judaism, Christianity & Islam

Kamal Abu-Shamsieh, Jaime Clark-Soles, Rabbi Zac Kamenetz, Don Lattin

This panel will dive into insights offered by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam on psychedelics and their intersection with historical tradition, spiritual practices and beliefs. Psychedelic substances have been used for centuries in various cultural and spiritual contexts, and many individuals within the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions have begun to explore their potential for deepening their religious experiences and personal growth, as well as investigating the histories of entheogenic use within these religions. This panel seeks to foster a thoughtful dialogue among faith leaders and theologians to examine the relationship between psychedelics and these three Abrahamic faiths.
